First time on a horse/beginner/intermediate riders
All Girl Camp

5 minutes from University area

All levels of campers are challenged to improve their riding skills, develop and understanding of riding theory, and strengthen their understanding of horses and the art of horsemanship.

Stay tune for dates for 2012!

What better way to build self-esteem, character and interaction with other children! Have a great time while learning to be around these amazing animals!

Our camps maximize learning and allows each individual to learn and improve at their own pace. Campers will be divided into groups by age and skill level once registered. Children will learn how to care for, handle, and ride their horse all week long and will also have the opportunity to participate in horse related crafts, group activities and more.

Each summer Hodges Farm offers week-long camp sessions for children ages 8 – 17. Fun comes first and with new themes every week, it is not unusual to see campers at more than one session!

Each session runs Monday-Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM.  (Early drop off and late pick up are also available for a fee.)

Safety is a priority at Hodges Farm.  In addition to weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes for ground activities, campers will need long pants, an approved safety helmet, and boots or a hard-sole shoe with a heel.

Our lessons are taught in one of our three enclosed rings with level and secure footing for our equine partners, as well as on the miles of natural trails within the Hodges Farm property.  Hodges Farm is home to calm and patient horses that are carefully selected for use in our riding programs.

We have a dedicated and experienced staff, a rustic well-equipped facility and a variety of learning opportunities that will leave a lasting impression on your child.

Campers will:

  • Learn natural horsemanship techniques for grooming, tacking and riding
  • Take part in arts and crafts
  • Have Water Day
  • Paint and wash your horse
  • Follow nature trails and learn the basics of animal tracking
  • And much, much more!
